The Benton Washington Regional Public Water Authority is looking for an individual to work as a Night Water Treatment Plant Operator. This position will start with 4-6 weeks of Day Shift Training (4 x 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday) and then move to the regular night shift operations schedule. Night Shift Operators work a 36-hour week followed by a 48-hour week (includes 8 hours of OT). (4 days off followed by 3 days off) The regular shift is 7 PM to 7 AM and has weekends off every other month. 

Starting pay for this position ranges from $18.00 per hour ($41,184 annually with OT) to $25.50 per hour (53,040 annually with OT) or potentially higher depending on experience and licensing (Grade 4 Water Treatment and Grade 4 Water Distribution Licenses for highest level of pay) from the Arkansas Department of Health. The Water Treatment Plant Operator I position (entry level) will be required to obtain a minimum of a Grade 3 Water Treatment License within one year of hire and additional licensing will be required to move into higher job classifications with higher pay rates.  The WTPO II base pay Range is $45,760 to $50,336 annually and the WTPO III base pay range is from $52,624 to $82,638 annually. All training needed to complete any job required licensing will be paid for by BWRPWA and time spent at courses or training is paid.

Minimum requirements for this position are that the applicant is a minimum of 18 years of age and has a High School Diploma or equivalent GED. The applicant must be able to work outdoors under all conditions, be able to climb ladders and stairs, be able to discern different colors and color changes, be able to pay attention to details, have good decision-making skills, and be able to read and comprehend the English language (all training materials and courses are in English). Preference will be given to those applicants with public water treatment experience and current licensure from the Arkansas Department of Health (or eligible for reciprocity). However, experience is not required to apply, and all training will be provided if needed.

Company paid life insurance policy (100K), uniforms, paid vacation, sick, and personal leave, and paid military leave. Recognized Holiday pay rate is double time. After one year of employment, the employee is eligible to participate in the 457 Retirement Plan with a 6% Company match and is eligible for up to $1,500 per semester in tuition assistance to pursue higher education coursework which also includes Vo-tech or technical coursework. 

Applicants will be required to pass a preemployment offer DOT drug panel test and pass a criminal background check.
