NWARPC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission (NWARPC) is seeking an Executive Director.
NWARPC is comprised of 38 units of government and other public agency partners. NWARPC serves as a forum for bringing local communities, Arkansas Department of Transportation, Missouri Department of Transportation, and other stakeholders together to collaboratively plan and make decisions on regional plans, transportation programs, policies, and projects.
NWARPC serves as the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and is responsible for the coordination of transportation planning activities, which includes managing functions for the Transportation Management Area (TMA).
NWARPC is responsible for the project selection process for suballocated FHWA Surface Transportation Block Grant Program (STBGP-A), Transportation Alternative Program (TAP), and Carbon Reduction Program (CRP). NWARPC is also the region’s FTA designated recipient for FTA urban funding programs.
The Executive Director oversees and coordinates the activities of the Commission in carrying out the metropolitan transportation planning process, including all supervisory, budgeting, administrative, outreach, and technical tasks.
Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, public administration, or closely related field and 10 years of related planning work experience of which five years must have been in a supervisory role.
Licenses and Certification:
Preferred - Certification from American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
Valid driver’s license.
