PROGRAM SUMMARY
In partnership with Northwest Arkansas cities, BikeNWA leads the Slow Streets program to expand safe space
for activities outdoors. The goal is to make neighborhood streets safer to walk and bike, creating accessible
spaces for activities outdoors. On these streets, residents can exercise, make trips to local businesses, and
explore the community.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Slow Streets Crew Leaders are responsible for the execution of the program plan as detailed by the Event
Manager. The Crew Leader is expected to oversee and assist with set up and breakdown of the Slow Streets
route each weekend, monitor throughout the weekend, and report any issues.
TIME REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work weekends with few exceptions.
Crew Leaders should expect 6-8 hours of work on weekends split between setup on Friday, route monitor shifts,
and breakdown on Sunday. There is a possibilty of additional hours during the week or during other events, as
available.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Crew Leader must have strong interpersonal communication and time-management skills. This role
requires confidence and decisiveness combined with flexibility and a capacity to give and receive directions
graciously.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and effectively manage time
• High work standards and degree of attention to detail
• Problem-solving and decision making
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions from staff and supervisors.
• Exhibit good interpersonal skills; collaborate with others; maintain composure when faced with difficult
situations and personalities
• AR drivers license and clean driving record
• Experience driving with a trailer a plus; this will be required for the job

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee program set up and breakdown
• Drive truck with a 16 foot trailer
• Monitor the program and route during weekend
• Serve as onsite lead and point of contact in case of concerns or emergencies
• Execute city plan as detailed and make notes
• Follow and enforce safety guidelines
• Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
• Valid drivers license
• Willing to submit to a background check
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs
REPORTS TO: Event Manager/Crew Leader
BENEFITS
Part-Time associates will receive a flat amount of four (4) hours of holiday pay if they work before and after the
following holidays: New Year's Day, MLK Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor
Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day and Your Birthday
(floating holiday)

The work environment is often outdoors in variable weather conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms;
use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and/or controls; move/carry files; and sit, walk, talk, and hear. The
Special Projects Coordinator must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required to
fulfill the duties of this job include close vision, the ability to perceive color, and the ability to adjust focus in
order to handle data collection, analysis, and summary reporting. Computer work will be a small part of
workflow.
